Located about three miles outside of Sperryville, Three Ponds Retreat is the outdoor sportsman's dream. Whether it is eagles and herons fishing in the ponds or deer, bear and other natural wildlife that wander out of the Shenandoah National Park there is always something new to see. This magical 33.9 acre property features three ponds, two cabins, mature forests as well as a border with the national park. Three Ponds Retreat is the perfect place to stop, relax and enjoy nature. A wide open grassy area that features a trout pond complete with a holding tank, aerator and a fishing pergola greets you as you turn into the property. Sitting next to the pond is a small fishing shed. A short path leads you from the trout pond to the sport fishing pond filled with bass. From the two lower ponds, the property gently winds through a mature forest up to the main cabin, the garage and the second home. An old logging road takes you further up the hillside to the woodland pond. Several hundred yards from the National Park Boundary, there is an almost constant flow of wildlife that stop for a drink as they wander down from the mountain to enjoy the lowlands. The remains of the logging road continue further up the hillside to a stately rock formation on a ridge that offers and expansive across Old Hollow in the winter.
